How U Do - It (HUD-1)

This self/home study course is a one (1) credit course where the student review the HUD-1 (Settlement Statement) to get a better understanding of the form itself and how unique it is in explaining the accounting process of monetary categories of disbursing fund to paid for services actually perform. 

The HUD-1 Settlement Statement is a form that lists all charges and credits to the borrower and seller in a transaction.  The purchaser have the right under RESPA to inspect the HUD-1 Settlement Statement before settlement occurs.  A copy of the HUD-1 is delivered to compare it to the GFE. However, the GFE is compared with the charges listed on the HUD-1 before settlement.  It gives the purchaser and/or the borrower a way of asking the settlement agent and lender questions and what is wanted in order to receive a completed and correct HUD-1 at least one day prior to settlement.

The HUD-1 settlement may be conduct by a title company, escrow company, attorney and is notarized by licensed TIPICS to complete the final deal.  This form the HUD-1 is a revised process in this matter of how the form explains each section in detail and how it is associated with the GFE.

The Good; The Faith;

The Estimate (GFE)

This self/home study course gives the licensed TIP and TIPIC and others, the necessary information needed to process and to understand the Good Faith Estimate loan document processed by the mortgage company/lender with instruction to the title company for the purchaser and/or the borrower.

The Good Faith Estimate – the new GFE is three pages in length, and includes an instructional page to help borrowers better understand the proposed loan terms and settlement charges and consolidates closing costs into major categories, so borrowers can easily compare different loan costs.  This course is designed to enlighten the TIPICS and TIP of the revised process in this matter of how the form explains each section in detail and how it is associated with the HUD-1.

This self/home study online CE course is designed in a presentation form utilizing Power Point to be opened on the Internet per student selection.  After student read review the presentation and what is required a course exam is administered online (Internet) thereafter.  Student must submit the answers to the questions the same day.

Title Process Depends on Signing Agents Knowledge

This home study course gives the licensed TIPIC the necessary information needed to process areas of a loan document where legal wording is drawn in and sometimes make processing a loan package unbearable.  This course provides some information needed base on jurisdiction and is able to assist in the comprehension of legal terms written in the document.

The dependency depends on the Signing Agent knowledge of reliable answers to notarial questions, problems and dilemmas that covers various topics including loan documents, commercial papers, appointment, authority and duties, acknowledgments, and the like of being able to attest and certify official documents and signatures; protest notes and bills of exchange; keep accurate record; handle negotiable instruments under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and able to differentiate the practice of law from notarial service.

This process is a given when it comes to the industry of real estate and following through with:  Sales and Purchases, Refinance, HELOC, Reverse Mortgage and the effect it has on the title of mortgaged properties.

Note:  The case study for the course material for various states is a good resource and very informative.  The Mobile Notaries Group chose this material to connect information required, interpret and explain the above information relevant to the process of the outcome of processing the final loan steps to where the notary need to ratify and understanding the wording in the body and the venue on the notaries perspective in the document.

The Course Booklet is the ANDERSON’S MANUAL FOR NOTARIES PUBLIC 9th Edition -- written by a host of Attorneys and must be purchased from LexisNexis or any bookstore who are contracted with LexisNexis.  The areas of concentration (State of Maryland) are pages 12 through 49; pages 313 through 321 and the Appendix page 823.  This study material varies amongst states.  After student read what is required a course exam is administered thereafter.  Student must submit the answers to the questions the same day.
